About 60 km from Marrakech, then a quarter-hour uphill walk from the reception in the village of Imlil; transfers are offered from Marrakech.

Who is it for?

The Kasbah is suitable for hikers and travellers seeking altitude and calm, from families to small groups on retreat. The mountain setting, at over 1 800 metres, requires a minimum of mobility: a short uphill walk of about fifteen minutes connects the village reception to the lodge.

The programme

The stay is organised around mountain walking. The teams offer trek packages that combine nights at the Kasbah, stops at the Trekking Lodge d’Azzaden, and the ascent of Jbel Toubkal (4 167 m), the highest peak in North Africa. Some routes add nights in Marrakech or Essaouira at the beginning or end of the stay.

Between hikes, the hammam and large panoramic terraces set the pace for deliberately slow days.

Accommodation and meals

The lodge has fourteen en-suite rooms, from standard to deluxe categories, as well as family rooms and a Garden House with three rooms that can be converted into a private house. The whole place opens onto a garden and large terraces facing the valley, and the venue has a hammam. Meals showcase Moroccan cuisine served on site.

On site and in the surrounding area

The Kasbah stands above the village of Imlil, in the Toubkal National Park, at the foot of the country’s highest peak. Marrakech is only about sixty kilometres away, which allows you to combine the mountains with the medina at the beginning or end of your stay. The surrounding valleys are suitable for day hikes as well as multi-day treks.

Features of the venue

The venue is managed with a local Berber team and remains committed to the development of the Imlil valley, through a village association that supports community projects. Award-winning hotel for responsible tourism, it is a reference for sustainable travel in the High Atlas.
