Yoga retreat in Provence
Yoga retreats in Provence: Luberon, Verdon and Provençal hinterland, between lavender, garrigue and stone farmhouses.
Between the Provençal Drôme and the slopes of the Luberon stretches a land that seems made for practice: the light is clear from early morning, villages have stood on their hills for centuries, and the song of cicadas makes a welcome change from notifications. The retreats I have selected here all offer more than postcard views of Provence: they are small, lived-in places, where yoga is accompanied by walks in the garrigue, meals where the olive oil comes from the nearby mill, and long afternoons without a programme. One comes to Provence for the light; one returns for the silence of the hills. Count on spring and early autumn for the most suitable temperatures, and on winter for a more inward-looking, almost monastic retreat.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a retreat in the Drôme and in the Luberon?
The Provençal Drôme (around Dieulefit) is wilder and less frequented; the Luberon offers more iconic landscapes but is more visited. In both cases, the selected venues are away from tourist routes.
Can we combine yoga and hiking in Provence?
Yes, most retreats in the region include hikes: garrigue trails, Luberon ridges or Saoû forests. Check the level of hikes offered when booking.
